Abstract

The Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia are member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, which allows their citizens to move freely and find employment in each of these countries. A detailed comparative analysis of the labor legislation of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan is given in the studies of a number of authors, while the comparison of the features of the labor legal regulation in Russia and Armenia is reflected in the works of legal scholars in the Eurasian space to a much lesser extent, despite the fact that the flow of migrating citizens from Russia to Armenia and vice versa is constantly growing.

The aim of the study is to compare the provisions of the main sources of labor law — the Russian and Armenian Labor Codes, with an emphasis on the advantages and disadvantages of the Armenian labor legislation in comparison with the Russian one. The results of the analysis will contribute to the improvement of the labor legislation of these countries.

In the course of the study, the main method was the comparative legal method, which allows to reveal the features of the legal regulation of labor in the states under consideration and to identify both the advantages inherent in the labor law of one of the countries and unsuccessful legal constructions.

As a result of the conducted research, the most controversial aspects of the labor legislation of Armenia that require changes have been identified. The conclusions addressed to Armenian jurists currently engaged in the problem of reforming labor legislation are formulated. In turn, Russian lawyers are given the opportunity to look at the problems of Russian labor legislation from a new angle, which will optimally reformulate the norms of Russian law that need to be adjusted.
