Abstract

The author’s approach to understanding the place and role of constitutional comparative studies in the system of Russian legal education is presented. According to the author, the very concept of constitutional comparative studies should be considered on the basis of the unity of scientific-doctrinal and educational principles. In modern conditions, these issues are especially relevant, given the constitutional amendments of 2020, which predetermined new international legal contexts of constitutional comparative studies.

There are negative trends associated with the diminution of comparative problems in the legal education system due to the inclusion of Russia in the Bologna process and the transition to a two-level system of training legal personnel. Taking into account the national peculiarities of the philosophical and ideological foundations of domestic legal education, specific directions for improving and increasing the role of constitutional comparative studies in the process of training legal personnel are proposed. Special attention is paid to substantiating the expediency of switching to the constitutional model of lawyer training, studying the problems of constitutionalism in the unity of theory and practice, consistent consideration of professional, educational and ideological principles in the system of constitutional comparative studies. The successful solution of these tasks is facilitated by the understanding of the legal education system itself as a constitutional value combining public and subjective-personal characteristics, which, in turn, allows an objective assessment of modern opportunities, to determine the real directions of integration of domestic legal education into the international educational space. An important role in these processes should also belong to constitutional comparative studies.
