Abstract

The Eurasian Economic Union, which has been functioning since January 1, 2015, has already managed to achieve serious results in various areas of economic activity that fall within its competence. The gradual formation of special unified legal spaces provided for by the EAEU Treaty continues. The common EAEU economic space should consist of: a single customs space; a single market for pharmaceutical products and medicines; common competition rules; general technical regulation; a single labor market and migration resources; general rules for the protection of intellectual property; building a single fuel and energy market. The digital agenda of the EAEU is also being implemented. In all these areas, the existing and adoption of new international legal acts of the EAEU, including both international treaties and acts adopted by the EAEU bodies, are being improved.

However, EAEU integration construction is becoming more complicated due to economic pressure and sanctions adopted against the Russian Federation by a number of states and the European Union as an international organization. In this regard, in order to preserve the stable and effective functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union as an interstate integration association, it is advisable to study the issue and the appearance in the EAEU law of an act on coordinated approaches of the EAEU member states to prevent and minimize the negative consequences of anti—Russian sanctions. In addition, for the effective promotion and development of integration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, the prerequisites for expanding the competence of the EAEU bodies, including the EAEU Court, as well as the Eurasian Economic Commission, have objectively matured.
